Let us pray: Father, your word in Psalm 1:3 "Declares that we shall be like trees planted by rivers of water, bringing forth fruit in our season." Therefore, I declare today that this is our season to bring forth fruit. In Jesus' name. Amen!
Today was not a typical day for me as I had a clear destination in mind before leaving my home. I consulted Google Maps to ensure that I would reach my destination on time. The sun was shining and the traffic was normal. There was a certain point where the traffic got a bit heavier, but if I waited for a while, it eventually cleared up. I remember that as I was driving the traffic started to slow down, and it looked like there was a backup in my direction. But I had a plan before leaving home, so I wasn't worried.
As I approached the area, I noticed that the traffic was getting increasingly heavy. My friend Siri was with me in the car and she advised me to continue straight, saying that it was the quickest way to reach our destination. However, since I had planned this trip beforehand and was familiar with the area, I knew that at a certain time of day, the traffic would slow down in a particular spot. Therefore, I decided to take the next exit to avoid the congestion ahead. I made the decision based on what I could see and rerouted myself. But I wasn't worried because I knew that my trusty friend Siri would help me get back on track, as she always does!
The moral of the story is that sometimes we let our own voice speak louder than the voice that knows how to guide us towards our true destination. We deviate from the path because we think we know better than the directions given to us. We believe that we have a better plan, but in reality, we might be wrong.  I decided to take a different route than the one I was supposed to take because I didn't want to face what was coming. However, this ended up costing me more time to get back on the original route to reach my destination. Although I was on the fastest route, sometimes we reroute ourselves due to circumstances, frustrations, or what we see in front of us. It's important to reject the negative circumstances, overcome the frustrations, and not be swayed by what we see.
My prayer is that you will follow His voice because God has the roadmap for our lives. Don’t reroute yourself, it will just take longer to get there!
