Let us pray: Father, "This is the day the Lord has made and we are rejoicing and glad in it." In Jesus' name. Amen!
Jonah was given a mission to warn people who were committing sins to repent. However, Jonah, instead of accepting the assignment, attempted to flee from it.
As the saying goes, "You can run, but you can't hide." This is because God is everywhere - He is omnipresent.
God was merciful and kind and was willing to forgive the people of their sins. However, Jonah had his own perception of the people of the city and didn't believe they needed forgiveness. Since he didn't agree with the assignment, he decided to pursue his own path. However, it's important to remember that our thoughts should not outweigh the thoughts of God. He knows our past, present, and future, as well as the heart of man. God knew that if He sent His word, the people would respond, but Jonah couldn't see beyond his own way of doing things.
Therefore, we should be open to whatever process God has for us and not be like Jonah, who ran away from his assignment because he disagreed with what God was asking him to do.
Don't let going your own way start a process you didn't ask for.
God is not looking for someone who is opinionated, but rather for someone who is willing. Sometimes we may think that we know what we can offer to God, but in reality, He can do greater things through us than we can ever imagine. Therefore, we should be careful not to run away from the tasks that God has assigned to us, as this will only cause the process to start all over again.
Let us pray: Father, thank you for showing us that your will my way cannot work. Let your word fall on good ground in Jesus' name. Amen!
