Let us Pray: Father, your word says, in Psalm 147 "raise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful." Hallelujah! In Jesus' name. Amen!
The first half of the book of Exodus talks about how the children of Israel is being led by Moses out of and into. It deals with Egypt (A place) Pharaoh (A person) and the Israelites (A people).
What Egypt Represents:
Then: Slavery, Bondage, Task Masters, Pain, Death
Now: Sin, Unforgiveness, Hate, Lies, Anger
Exodus 14:12 "Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”
In other words, didn’t I tell you then and I’m telling you now…there was nothing wrong with our current situation, there is nothing wrong with a being in slavery. At least we had this and at least we had that. We had a place to live, we had food to eat but what did it cost them, what is costing you? They were willing to be back in bondage instead of walking in freedom. This tells me that we need to deal with the mindset.
If we don't shift in our mindset, when things get too hard, when things get too difficult, if we're not careful we will turn back to what's familiar. If you trusted God enough to say yes when he came knocking at your door and you let him in then you have to trust God enough to know that he knows how to close the door and lock it behind Him. Everything changes when He rests rule and abides in your place of dwelling. God will not harm you, God will not leave you nor will He forsake you. God will provide for you. All you have to do is open your heart and trust that God wants the best for you.
There is an old saying “You can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl”. My ways may be country, my speech may be country and I’m not dissing my upbringing but what I am saying is that I don’t live there anymore. When I go home to visit, it reminds me of where I come from, it  reminds of me of the good and the bad and how sometimes I began to miss it but as soon as I leave I have to tell myself I don’t live there anymore. Egypt is not my home. The things that caused me pain, I don't live there anymore. The sin I once lived in, I don't live there anymore. The hurt and unforgiveness I once walked in, I don't live there anymore.
If you have allowed God to take up residence in your heart then trust Him to take you into Freedom (Newness) and learn how to receive God's love and live.
The people of Israel was being led out of bondage and into a new way of thinking, into a new way of living. While being led out of captivity and into liberation they became uncomfortable with the situation and were ready to return to what's familiar.
Isn't that like some of us, while we are being led into the unknown and when it  seems like God is not providing, we tend to want go back to what's familiar. When  it seems like God is not speaking we become impatient and start making rash  decisions instead of standing still and seeing the salvation of the Lord. When it  seems like trouble is knocking at the door, Don't be so quick to return to bondage, instead of trusting the one who brought you out. This is not the time to go backward this is the time to go forward.
I close with this vs. 15 And the Lord said unto Moses, wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward. I speak into your  current situation to come out of bondage and into liberation, come out of  imprisonment, come out of slavery and oppression; No longer will you be bound in  your mindset, No longer will you be bound in your thinking, No longer will you be  bound in your old way of living. Come out of the hurt and the pain of what your  ma’am said or didn’t say, Come out of what your father did or did not do and walk  into healing and forgiveness, You are loved, you are somebody, You are precious in  the sight of God, And the Lord said I will make You the head and not the tail, You  shall be above only and not beneath, if you take heed the commandments of the  Lord your God. You are blessed in the city and blessed in the field.  One version says, You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the Country. I received that for me even though I don't live there anymore but the country on the inside of me and who resides in me I'm blessed!
You can be forgiven, the scriptures tells us in Romans 10:9 "That if you confess  with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him  from the dead, you will be saved." Come out and into forward progress. In Jesus' name.
Man, Woman, Sister, Brother...God told me to tell you that Egypt Is Not Your Home...Be Free!
